The Propane Tank is a quest item found in the greenhouse during the tea-brewing escape room. It is stored on a shelf near the cabinet and must be retrieved and connected to the tea-making station to finish the level. Picking it up is one step in a longer chain that also involves the chainsaw, the Bee-B-Gone, and the water valve.

Where to Find the Propane Tank

The Propane Tank sits on a shelf near the cabinet in the greenhouse area. After you open the cabinet and deal with the gasoline can, you can grab a tank from the floor on the shelf below [src-59f8d3957c]. The walkthrough also describes picking up "one of the propane tanks on the bottom" after opening the cabinet [src-cc415a0c9f], confirming there is at least one spare tank available at that spot.

How to Complete the Tea-Making Puzzle

The Propane Tank is only useful once the tea station is ready. The full sequence to reach and use it is:

  1. Solve the flower puzzle to open the cabinet. In the first row, select the checkered flower; below it, the black-and-white flower; and in the third row, the blue flower. This opens the cabinet [src-cc415a0c9f][src-59f8d3957c].
  2. Refill the chainsaw. Inspect the red gasoline can on the top right of the cabinet, then apply the gasoline to the chainsaw so it can be used again [src-cc415a0c9f][src-59f8d3957c].
  3. Pick up a Propane Tank from the shelf below the cabinet [src-59f8d3957c][src-cc415a0c9f].
  4. Cut open the overgrown door. Back away from the cabinet, turn left, and use the chainsaw on the door to enter the small secret overgrown room [src-cc415a0c9f].
  5. Open the butterfly door. Inside, turn right and enter the color sequence pink, green, blue, pink, yellow, yellow to open the cabinet and obtain the Bee-B-Gone [src-cc415a0c9f][src-59f8d3957c].
  6. Clear the bees and turn on the water. Exit the room, turn right, and use the Bee-B-Gone on the bees, then interact with the valve to start the water flowing [src-cc415a0c9f][src-59f8d3957c].
  7. Brew the tea. Return to the tea-making station in the middle of the map. The three interactions can be done in any order: put the tea leaves in the kettle, pour in the water using the valve near the top, and connect the Propane Tank at the bottom [src-cc415a0c9f][src-59f8d3957c].

Tips

  • If the station says it needs water even though the tank is connected, check the tank itself. An empty tank must be swapped for a new one before the station will work — inspecting the tank reveals it is empty and prompts you to use a fresh one [src-eca7cb7683]. This is why grabbing a spare tank from the shelf matters.
  • The tea-station interactions are order-independent, so you can connect the Propane Tank first, last, or in between the leaves and water steps without breaking the puzzle [src-cc415a0c9f].
  • Do not discard the gasoline can after refueling the chainsaw; the chainsaw is required to open the overgrown door before the Bee-B-Gone (and therefore the water valve) becomes reachable [src-cc415a0c9f].

Rewards

Completing the tea-making puzzle with the Propane Tank finishes the level and unlocks the achievement/trophy "Steeped in the teakettle and lived to tell the tale" [src-cc415a0c9f][src-59f8d3957c]. You are then returned to the dorm and can continue with the rest of the game [src-cc415a0c9f].
