[Solange

A headmaster referenced in the academy's history.

Verification: Human verified

Solange is the Headmaster of Escape Academy, referenced throughout the academy's history and appearing directly in both the original game and its sequel. She is the faculty member who welcomes students, hands out orientation materials, and delivers the speech framing the academy's badge-collection system. This guide covers every interaction with Solange that the available sources document, from the entrance exam to the sequel's opening day.

Who [Solange Is

Solange holds the title of Headmaster. Her full name, as used in the entrance exam puzzle, is Sandra Jacqueline Solange — first, middle, and last name [src-cc415a0c9f] [src-59f8d3957c]. In Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School she appears as Headmaster Solange, welcoming players back and declaring the school year officially begun [src-d382bce65e]. The Escape from the Past DLC puts players in control of Sandra Solange as a student, alongside Eel Barnes, during her own time at the Academy [src-529381cee6].

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Pass the [Entrance Exam (Name Puzzle)

During the tutorial level, after completing the piano puzzle and pressing B to back up, head to the ATM near the vault door [src-cc415a0c9f]. Interact with it and enter the correct name: Sandra Jacqueline Solange [src-cc415a0c9f] [src-59f8d3957c].

• All categories on the ATM screen are listed in alphabetical order, which makes finding each name fast [src-cc415a0c9f].
• Double-check all three names before confirming — an incorrect entry wastes the attempt [src-cc415a0c9f].
• Entering the name correctly unlocks the door, ends the puzzle, and awards an achievement plus an A+ rank [src-cc415a0c9f].

2. Meet the Faculty in Chapter One

After the tutorial, you enter the dorm and begin Chapter One, the Fall Term [src-cc415a0c9f]. Exit the dorm by clicking the door. Whenever a person icon appears on the map, go talk to that character [src-cc415a0c9f] [src-59f8d3957c].

• Talk to Bonilla/Bonia in the quad [src-cc415a0c9f].
• Go to the Headmaster's office and use the Talk command to speak with the Headmaster [src-cc415a0c9f]. Note: one walkthrough reports the Headmaster rendering invisible while the Talk command still triggers the conversation normally [src-cc415a0c9f] — if this happens, simply proceed.
• These conversations count toward the achievement/trophy for talking to eight people, so clear them as you go [src-59f8d3957c].

3. Follow Her Orientation ([Escape Academy 2)

In the sequel, talk to Headmaster Solange to receive a locker key and an orientation checklist [src-0dc02cf791]. From there:

1. Go left in the corridor to the portrait wall and find your own portrait to learn your student number (a restroom mirror is available if you forget your appearance) [src-0dc02cf791].
2. Open the matching locker with the key from your inventory and take the $3 inside [src-0dc02cf791].
3. Proceed through the lobby, up the stairs, and solve the dormitory padlock (count founder symbols — e.g., 3 spades, 4 hearts, 6 clubs gives code 346) [src-0dc02cf791].

Later, in Chapter 6, Solange is waiting for you on the far side of the beach past a door; choose to progress the story when you encounter her [src-0dc02cf791].

Tips

• Save hints for A+ ranks. The entrance exam walkthrough stresses not using a hint so you keep the A+ [src-cc415a0c9f].
• Sprint everywhere. There is a separate achievement for sprinting 400 meters; you'll likely earn it naturally while moving between Solange's office and classes [src-59f8d3957c].
• Grab the newspaper in each level — it's easy to walk past [src-59f8d3957c].
• Don't worry about missable conversations. There are far more people to talk to than the eight required [src-59f8d3957c].

Story Context

Solange recruited the player character personally — she says she "knew I saw potential in you" and is "rarely wrong about these students I recruit" [src-2c17f7b0c2]. Her welcome speech explains the core loop: collect 10 badges through feats of escape to earn the seal of escape and the title of true escapist [src-2c17f7b0c2]. By the events of Minutes to Midnight, another instructor remarks that he misses Headmaster Solange, calling the current teacher a "downer" who isn't nurturing students [src-6146959a4c].

Rewards

• Correct entrance-exam name entry: achievement unlock and A+ rank [src-cc415a0c9f].
• Faculty conversations (including the Headmaster): progress toward the "talk to eight people" achievement/trophy [src-59f8d3957c].
• Solange's orientation in the sequel: locker key, checklist, and $3 [src-0dc02cf791].
